About us

Help at Home is a social enterprise, owned and run by the Disability Resource Centre (DRC), which has been providing support services to disabled people and those with long term health conditions since 1992.

Helping people live independant lives

Our aim is to support people who are unable to carry out a multitude of domestic tasks – because of age, disability or illness – to live independent lives in their own homes.

We are also happy to provide help to people who are just too busy to keep on top of all the tasks that need doing around their home or garden.

By choosing Help at Home as your services provider you will be supporting our work as a charity.

We are a social enterprise

Being a social enterprise means that we are not run primarily to make a profit.  We aim to cover our costs and invest any surplus we do make in developing our services or in supporting DRC’s charitable activities.  We also offer employment to people with disabilities, where practical.

Our mission

“To empower disabled people to take control of their own lives and to actively seek out opportunities to achieve their full potential as individuals in mainstream society.”

Our values

  • Maintaining Professionalism and Accountability
  • Building Sustainability and Resilience
  • Advancing Equality of Opportunity
  • Promoting Autonomy and Independence
  • Upholding Dignity and Respect

We understand the importance of having somebody trustworthy, reliable and friendly, as well as professionally trained and skilled, to carry out essential tasks in and around the home.
